If you’re hosting a party to watch the big pro football games or college bowl games—along with the BISSELL® Kitty Halftime show—you’ll probably be busy preparing for a house full of guests. But with any party, stains and messes are bound to appear. Let us help you prepare for any game-day stains that may find their way onto your carpets.

Dirt and Mud
As your guests arrive, they may bring some of the outdoors with them. To help battle messes that come indoors, put an absorbent mat inside your front door for guests to wipe their shoes on. If any of the mess makes its way to your carpets, just clean the soiled areas with a carpet cleaning formula like the Heavy Traffic® Pretreat and Spot Cleaner.

First, gently blot up excess mud with a cloth or towel. Then, generously and evenly spray the area with the Heavy Traffic® Pretreat and Spot Cleaner. Next, use a cloth or towel and gently work the formula into the area using light, scooping strokes and moving from the edges to the center of the stain. When you reach the center of the stain, lightly pinch in an upward motion to lift the stain.

BBQ Sauce
BBQ is a popular choice for parties, whether it’s chicken, ribs or other foods. Unfortunately, some BBQ sauce is bound to land on your carpet. For this type of stain and those from other condiments like ketchup, we recommend using the Oxy Deep® Pretreat and Spot Cleaner. It attacks tough, colored stains and permanently removes them from the fibers of your carpet.

The first step is to use a cloth or towel to gently blot up as much of the excess sauce as you can without pushing the stain into the carpet. Next, spray the Oxy Deep® Pretreat and Spot Cleaner to clean the stain. Continue to treat the sauce or other condiments with a cloth or towel and work the formula into the area. Use light, scooping strokes move from the edges to the center of the stain. Lightly pinch in an upward motion when you reach the center to lift the stain.

Red Wine and Juice
If you or any of your guests decide to enjoy a nice glass of red wine, or if the kids are drinking juice, some might spill onto your light-colored carpet, but don’t worry. Treat wine and juice stains like you would BBQ sauce and other condiments. Just be sure to blot up as much as you can with a cloth without pushing the stain into the carpet.

If any stains remain after your party is over, use the BISSELL Big Green® Deep Cleaning Machine® to rejuvenate your entire carpet, paying special attention to the stained areas.

In the meantime, relax and let the party begin. Game on!
