Rent an Upholstery Cleaner

Looking to freshen up your fabric couches and chairs? To get an upholstery cleaner rental, all you need to do is to find a BISSELL Rental location near you, go to that retailer, and rent a Big Green and an Upholstery & Stair Cleaning tool together. It’s that easy!

How to Use the Upholstery & Stair Cleaning Tool

• Before you begin using the Big Green carpet cleaning machine with the Upholstery & Stair Tool, read any fabric instructions to ensure the fabric code is “WS” or “W.” If it is, test a small hidden area like the underside of a cushion for colorfastness and look it over when it dries. If upholstery color is affected, do not use the upholstery rental. If the color is not affected, then proceed to use the tool to clean upholstery. BISSELL Carpet Deep Cleaner formulas are not safe for fabrics coded “X” or “S.”
• Prepare the furniture cleaner rental as you normally would, by filling the machine’s clean water tank with hot tap water and two capfuls of BISSELL cleaning formula.
• Next, attach the smaller solution hose to the upholstery cleaner rental machine tank and turn clockwise to lock it in place. Then attach the larger hose into the hose latch and, again, turn clockwise to lock in place. Once the hoses are firmly attached, you can begin using the Upholstery & Stair Cleaning Tool.
• Depending on your project, clean with the tips you see below for stairs or upholstery!
• Once you’re finished, remove the hose and rinse it, removing any extra debris from the tool’s brush roll. Before putting the Upholstery & Stair Cleaning Tool back into the bag, make sure there is no extra water remaining inside. Remove both water tanks and rinse them completely, placing them back on the machine. Once the machine is clean and reassembled, bring it back to the store and hurry home to relax on your newly cleaned furniture!

How to Clean Carpet on Stairs

• If there are old, set-in stains on your carpeted stairs, pre-treat with your favorite BISSELL pre-treat spray.
• Starting at the top of your stairs, use the Upholstery & Stair Cleaning Tool in the same way you would use BISSELL deep cleaning carpet rental machine. Press the trigger and slowly make a back and forth pass over the top of the stair. Put down formula and water, but don’t over-wet the area.
• Then release the trigger and go back over the same area. This will suction up the dirt and formula. Go back and forth until there isn’t any more solution being pulled up.
• Continue this process going down the stairs. Don’t forget the clean the stair backs too!

How to Clean Upholstery

• If there are old, set-in stains on your fabric couch or upholstered chair, pre-treat with your favorite BISSELL pre-treat spray.
• Begin using the Upholstery & Stair Cleaning Tool by pressing the red trigger and slowly making a back and forth pass over a small area. Be careful not to over wet the area.
• Next, release the trigger and make the same backward and forward path. Continue making passes until the solution being pulled up appears clean. For deeply stained areas, you may have to do this several times.
• Continue this process until you are satisfied the entire area has been cleaned. Be sure to keep an eye on the water tanks, too. If you’re tackling a big project, you may need to refill the clean water tank and empty the dirty water.
