The holidays are around the corner and now is the time to prepare your home for guests. Don’t let cleaning the house, both before and after parties, ruin your holiday spirit. Here are some holiday cleaning tips to think about while preparing!
Tackling the cleaning to-do list
Leading up to your holiday event, clean one mess every day. Dust the dining room, vacuum the family room, spiff up bedrooms, and clean the kitchen on different days. It will be easier than cleaning the whole house in a one-day marathon cleaning session.
Think about carpet cleaning for the holidays
Spending a few hours getting the old stains out of your carpet can make your home look like a million bucks when guests come over. And by using a
carpet deep cleaning formula with StainProtect™ stain protection, you can safeguard your carpets from future stains.
Contain the holiday party to certain rooms
Want to contain the party mess? Keep your holiday guests in the main rooms of your house. Shut doors to rooms where you don’t want people to go and designate a guest bathroom by making it more inviting and stocking with essentials. That way no one will wander off looking for toilet paper.
Keep emergency cleaning products around the house
Have bottles of cleaning spray formula and rolls of paper towel in a few places around the house. We recommend
Oxy Deep Pro® for red wine, coffee, and cola;
Heavy Traffic spray for greasy, oily spills; and
Pet Urine Stain & Odor spray for any pet accidents that happen.
Easy Clean-Up
Start out with empty trash bins and add fresh liners. Put a few extra bags in the bottom of each trash bin so you can quickly go from full to empty. We know it’s not fun to do cleaning for guests during the party, but if you empty the garbage as soon as it’s full people won’t leave their empty plates and trash lying around. Tablecloths will help save you time cleaning counters when your guests leave. And lastly, cleaning up the buffet as platters get emptied is always a good idea.
We hope you can enjoy the holiday season and not get caught up in Thanksgiving cleaning and Christmas cleaning and New Year cleaning… we’ll stop there.
Happy Holidays from everyone at BISSELL.
